Champion Spotlight

Sergio Ravelo

Sergio Ravelo

Sergio Ravelo of Northern California has five brothers and all of them, as well as his father, have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Unfortunately, prostate cancer has taken the life of three of his brothers. His father migrated from the Dominican Republic to the U.S. He was diagnosed in 2002 and received treatment. Sergio’s father lived with a smile on his face for another 20 years without complications, but then lost his fight in February of 2021. Sergio wishes to pay respect to all those with prostate cancer and would like to remember his brothers and express gratitude for the extra 20 years he got with his dad.

Jack Porter

Jack Porter

Jack Porter is a member of SEA Blue Chicago Prostate Cancer Walk/Run family. In 2020, Jack signed up for the event as a Team Captain for Team Papa Hat, in honor of his grandfather Stu who passed away from prostate cancer. His grandmother, Myrna is one of the original founders of the SEA Blue event and Jack has taken over their team to hit the ground running. In 2021, he was the top fundraiser and Team Papa Hat was the top fundraising team, bringing in over $13,000 for prostate cancer patients and their families. Jack is a HUGE asset to the prostate cancer community and we look forward to the impact he will continue to make on patients’ lives.
