WASHINGTON, D.C., June 24, 2019 -- ZERO Prostate Cancer is expanding! Three dynamic new hires have been added to the team, including a brand new position that will grow ZERO’s efforts in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Patrice Brown hits the ground running this month as ZERO’s new Vice President of Patient Programs and Advocacy. Brown comes to ZERO with an extensive background in patient support programs and launching research grant initiatives.

Most recently, Brown was the Vice President of Programs at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. She also spent more than three years at the American Red Cross as the Director of Medical Education and Training. Her journey at ZERO began last year when her uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“The ZERO360 patient navigation program not only helped my family when we needed guidance and support, but it sparked my desire to do more in the prostate cancer arena,” said Patrice Brown, ZERO’s Vice President of Patient Programs and Advocacy. “I’m now running the program that helped my uncle. That alone helps me see the patients and families we help through a very different lens.”

ZERO is also thrilled to announce that Renee Haney has assumed the position of New York/New Jersey Chapter Director. This is a brand new position and will help ZERO grow its relationships with patients, families, donors, and sponsors in the Tri-State region.

“A few years ago, my grandfather lost his battle with prostate cancer, so ZERO’s work is near and dear to my heart,” said Renee Haney, ZERO’s New York/New Jersey Chapter Director.

Haney has more than 20 years of medical administration experience and comes to ZERO from New Jersey Urology. She’s no stranger to the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series as she was the race director for the 2018 ZERO Run/Walk South Jersey which raised more than $100K.

Tracy Crites joined the team in April as ZERO’s Texas Chapter Director. Tracy’s background includes experience with the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Cancer Society. Tracy is a Texas native and is excited to build the prostate cancer community in her home state.

“As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas,” said Tracy Crites, ZERO’s Texas Chapter Director. “Our Run/Walks coming up this fall will prove that true as I plan to reach more men, raise more donations and make a bigger impact on prostate cancer here in the Lone Star State.”

“We’re absolutely thrilled to add Patrice, Renee, and Tracy to the ZERO team, said ZERO CEO and President Jamie Bearse. “Everyone at ZERO is a stunning colleague with a deep desire to save lives from prostate cancer and strive toward becoming the best organization we can be.”
