September is Almost Here. How Will YOU Raise Awareness?
It’s August, which means the countdown to Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (PCAM) is on. This year an estimated 31,620 men will die from prostate cancer, but we all can help by raising awareness and funding to help more men get tested. Early detection saves and lengthens lives!
Through the end of September, a $50,000 match will double the impact of every donation. By giving now, you're giving twice as many men a chance to receive free testing and learn more about their risk of prostate cancer.
Join thousands across the country who are spreading the word by sharing their passion to end prostate cancer on social media. Download and print the #CountMeIn sign, snap a pic, and then share it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Remember to use the hashtags #CountMeIn and #endprostatecancer in your posts for a chance to receive a shout-out from ZERO on social media!
FREE September Webinar on Sexual Intimacy and Side Effects
Many prostate cancer patients face challenges with sexual intimacy and other side effects as a result of their diagnosis. This webinar will provide you with information about reducing, minimizing, and improving outcomes related to side effects caused by prostate cancer and their treatments.
Hear from two doctors who have decades of experience treating prostate cancer patients. Dr. R. Clay Williams at Urology Tyler and Dr. James Yu at Yale Medicine’s Prostate & Genitourinary Cancer Radiotherapy Program will lead the discussion and take your questions.

Your Dollars at Work: Removing Barriers for Patients and Their Families
Because of you, more patients and families are getting the support they need. ZERO360 is the only case management program in the country dedicated specifically to meet the needs of prostate cancer patients. To date, ZERO360 has helped more than 1,500 men solve and overcome complicated financial, insurance, and emotional barriers during their prostate cancer journey.
This year alone, more than $325,000 has been put back into patients’ pockets. A total of $1.3M has been recovered since the program’s inception. With the help of generous donors like you, more men each year are getting the support they need during their prostate cancer battle. Thank you!
If you know a man who needs help, let him know he doesn’t need to face prostate cancer alone. ZERO360 is free and confidential, please call (844) 244-1309.

Cancer Can Come from your Mom or Your Dad
The Hoppe family has a very extensive history of cancer. When Ed Hoppe was diagnosed with prostate cancer his daughters, Emily and Ellen, took the myRisk Hereditary Cancer Test and found out that they were BRCA1 positive coming from their dad’s lineage. They then went to their extended family on their dad’s side and told everyone that could be affected by this mutation to get tested. Knowing this genetic information allows Emily and Ellen to get a step ahead and take measures to reduce their risk of breast or ovarian cancer.

A Daughter’s Point of View
Athena Bogdanos knows all too well that prostate cancer doesn’t only affect men, it affects families, friends, and communities. Her close-knit family stuck together throughout her dad’s cancer battle, but sadly they lost him late last year. They are now joining together again, but this time as Team Hoboken Strong, in honor of Deno, and will be participating in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk - New York City.
