ZERO & Us TOO International Finalize Merger
The prostate cancer community has a new patient-centric powerhouse in its corner with the officially completed merger of ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer and Us TOO Support Groups. This newly unified organization creates a comprehensive support system for prostate cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. It also increases prostate cancer awareness and advances research and access to care through a united advocacy platform. The need is urgent to directly address the increase of emotional, financial, and physical challenges caused by COVID-19 to those who are already in a health crisis fighting prostate cancer.
In addition, serving as a single educational resource will help reach more patients and communities on important issues including ever-developing treatment options, early detection and active surveillance, diagnostics, survivorship, and emotional and physical well-being. Two major priorities for the combined organization are to address the growing need for patient support as a result of the pandemic and to eliminate the racial disparities in prostate cancer.
More about the merger of ZERO and Us TOO International can be found in this breaking news item.
Thank You for Helping Us ZERO Out Prostate Cancer!
Wow, you did it! You and hundreds of other generous donors gave a gift to ZERO and helped raise over $100,000 in matched funds. Because of you, direct help was ready for men and families who need it most in the face of this ongoing health crisis. Thank you!
Your support during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month was more critical than ever, as many more patients are struggling both financially and emotionally. Your dedication and passion to help others is truly inspiring. Special thanks to Bayer, for its generous triple matching gift on ZERO Cancer Day.
The Link Between Prostate Cancer & Breast Cancer
October 1 marked the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The past year has posed a challenge to just about everything, and cancer prevention is no exception. Except for skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with the risk of developing them being 1 in 8.
Did you know a family history of breast cancer is associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer, and that the relationship between breast cancer and prostate cancer may be in the genes? Research has shown that certain genetic mutations of the BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 gene may increase the risk of aggressive prostate cancer. Visit our website to learn more about what the BRCA gene means for men and their families.
Clinical Trials: Everything You Need to Know
Clinical trials can be an excellent option for prostate cancer patients. However, there are tons of questions and myths circulating about the subject. That's why ZERO sat down to answer some of the most common questions people have about clinical trials.

Grow & Give to End Prostate Cancer
What began as an idea to bring back the mustache evolved into a movement to raise awareness around prostate cancer in men. Grow & Give is ZERO's facial hair campaign that grows awareness and funds to fight prostate cancer. Join the G&G movement and let your facial hair flow and grow a mustache or beard.
Plus we have a great contest rolling as well — post your pics on social media with #growandgive, and you may be the lucky winner of a Grizzly Cooler from Hop Valley Brewing. Contest opportunities include: most creative team, most creative grow sister, celebrity doppelganger, Grizzly Bear Adams - fullest/bushiest beard, and stache-tastic award for best mustache. Special thanks to Hop Valley Brewing for being the premier sponsor of ZERO's 2021 Grow & Give campaign.
Sign the Petition to Support Veterans' Prostate Cancer Care
Clinical pathways are a vital tool in the fight against prostate cancer. Clinical pathways improve the quality, treatment, and access for patients with a standardized system of care. Currently, no such national clinical pathway exists for prostate cancer within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The Veteran's Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act is a critical piece of legislation in the House and Senate that will help to ensure that Veterans will have equal access to the best possible care by establishing a national clinical pathway for prostate cancer within the VHA. You are needed!
Add your signature to take to Congress in November showing the strong support of our community for improving the prostate cancer outcomes for U.S. Veterans.
