Will You Be One of ZERO's 50 Vets in 50 States?

50 Vets in 50 States

On Veteran's Day, ZERO launched a brand new campaign called "50 Vets in 50 States" – this campaign aims to bring faces and names to the many Veterans across the country that are battling prostate cancer – and we want you to be a part of it!

We are looking for a Veteran to represent each state! If you're a Veteran and a prostate cancer patient or survivor who is willing to be a vocal advocate and champion for men, we want you to join us:

  • Help raise awareness around the increased risk of prostate cancer for Veterans and military servicemen
  • Advocate for prostate cancer policies that would improve care for Vets at the state and federal level
  • Inform providers and patients about care options via the Mission Act

To get involved with the campaign, email Ali Manson, ZERO's VP of Government Relations and Advocacy.

PET Scans & Prostate Cancer

Blue Earth Diagnostics PET Scan

Last year, my PSA levels spiked. My wife and I met with my doctor who said we would need to change my treatment to something more aggressive. We asked if there were any other options, and he mentioned that it could be a good time for a PET scan, and that maybe information gathered from nuclear imaging could help us come up with another treatment plan.

- John D., a patient living with recurrent prostate cancer

John's case is not unusual, and particularly at his stage of disease, nuclear medicine can sometimes be a helpful tool. Diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals can provide images of what is occurring inside the body at molecular and cellular levels. Depending on where the patient may be in the course of his disease, such a unique insight may enable physicians to personalize a patient's care.

Bring an information packet to your doctor to ask whether a PET scan might be right for you. (This content is provided in partnership with Blue Earth Diagnostics.)

Help more men receive genetic testing

Share what you know about genetic testing

1 in 6 men with prostate cancer inherited a gene mutation that may have caused their cancer. If a genetic test identifies you inherited a gene mutation, there is a 50% chance it will be passed down to your children. If you or your loved one have been affected by prostate cancer, take this short survey to share your insights.
