Q: What if people want to give me cash?

A: It is safest and best for record keeping that you convert all cash received to check or money orders. Please send a personal check covering the full amount, along with corresponding donations forms to ZERO. We will be able to credit your friends and family for their generosity if you include their information. If this is not possible, you can always bring the cash donations and a donation form to the race.

Q: Do I have to send in my donations? Can I bring them with me to the event?

A: You can always bring your donations with you to the event. Please bring your donations in an envelope with your name/team name so they are properly credited to your fundraising efforts. All of the donations should appear on your fundraising page within four weeks of the event , if a month or more has passed and you still do not see your donations on your page, please contact ZERO by email at races@zerocancer.org.

We encourage you to mail in your donations in advance of race day so there is no delay in crediting you for your fundraising efforts.

Q: Donations were made towards my fundraising efforts, but I don’t see them on my fundraising page?

A: All mailed donations should appear on your page within 2 weeks of being received by ZERO. All donations turned in on race day should appear within 4 weeks. If this time has passed and you do not see your donations on your page, please email ZERO at races@zerocancer.org.

Q: I made a donation and I think my company matches employees’ charitable donations. How do I get this started?

A: Every company handles its own matching gift program differently. Please contact your company’s Human Resources department for instructions on how to double your fundraising efforts through matching gifts. For more information about matching gifts click here.

Q: Can I continue to collect donations after the walk?

A: Absolutely! Participants can fundraise up until 6 weeks after the event. Please mail donations and forms to:

ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer
Attn: Cleveland Race
P.O. Box 320822
Alexandria, VA 22320

Q: How can I receive an IRS tax receipt for my donation?

A: If you donated online, your tax receipt will be emailed to the email address you provided. If you donated via check, you can request a tax receipt be mailed to you by emailing races@zerocancer.org.

Race Day

Q: Are pets allowed at the race?

A: Yes. Dogs on five foot, non-retractable leashes are permitted. Dogs must be friendly, be up to date with shots, and have no history of fighting or biting. Pet owners must take full responsibility for the behavior of their pet. Pet owners must start towards the back, may not weave through packs of runners, and yield the right of way to other runners. Pet owners must also clean up after their pet.

Q: Are strollers allowed at the race?

A: Yes. We believe a fit family is a happy family and allow strollers on our course. However, we do have some requirements: you must start in the back, you may not weave through packs of runners, and you must always yield the right of way to other runners.

Q: Who is able to get running awards?

A: Coming Soon!

Q: If I don't pick up my shirt at the race, can I get one mailed?

A: No, unfortunately due to the expense, shirts cannot be mailed. Your family or friends are able to pick up your shirt at packet pick-up or on race day for you if you are unable to attend the race.

Q: Can I pick up packets for my family and friends?

A: Yes. We do allow runners to pick up bibs and shirts for their friends. Please note that shirts cannot be mailed. Please verify with your family and friends that you will be picking up their packets.

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the race?

A: While every effort will be made to conduct the event, the race will be postponed or canceled if the weather is judged to be hazardous to the safety of participants and spectators. Entry fees will not be refunded if the event is canceled.

Registration

Q: What is the difference between donating and registering?

A: A donation is a tax deductible donation made to ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer. Donations can be credited to a specific team or participant’s fundraising efforts, or credited to the event as a general donation.

A registration is a fee that signs someone up to run/walk on race day at the event or participate in our virtual Snooze for Dudes program. Everyone who wishes to run/walk on race day must register to participate. All registrants receive a tech shirt, personal fundraising webpage, and our eligible for our fundraising incentives. Registration fees are not tax deductible and do not go towards your fundraising goal.

Q: How do I register?

A: Click the Register today button on the bottom of this page and follow the steps to register. If you have any issues, please feel free to reach out us at 1-888-245-9455. You may download and print the registration form by visiting the event homepage and clicking the “Mail-In Registration Form” link under resources. Please mail the form, along with a check in the amount stated on the form, to:

ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer
Attn: Cleveland Race
P.O. Box 320822
Alexandria, VA 22320

Q: Should I start a team or join as an individual?

A: If you have a friend or family member joining you, please start a team. If you are attending alone, please join as an individual. There is not a minimum requirement for team size.

Q: Is it better to register online or register the morning of the race?

A: There are many advantages to registering before the race. Here are just a couple:

  1. Knowing how many people to expect will help us plan for a better event for everyone. We order all items based on how many people have pre-registered for the event (shirts, water, finish line food, etc...).
  2. Each person that registers will receive a fundraising page within the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk website. This will give friends and family a place to go where they can donate directly to you online or get a donation form and mail a donation directly to us that will be credited to your page. You can also customize this page with a photo and special message about why you’re participating.

Q: I accidentally registered as an individual and meant to join or start a team. What do I do?

A: No problem! If you would like to be added to a team or start your own team, simply send an email to races@zerocancer.org with your name, team name, and what city’s race you’re taking part in.

Q: Online registration is closed. Can I still register?

A: Absolutely! You can register in person during early packet pickup and on race day. Click here for more information.

Q: I already registered as a 5K run participant, but want to walk the 1 mile instead. Can I change my registration fee?

A: Absolutely! We can change your registration type, please email races@zerocancer.org with your requested changes.

Q: I registered and can no longer participate. Can I get a refund?

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on registration fees. We can convert your registration fee to a tax deductible donation.

Fundraising

Q: Is there a fundraising minimum to participate in the run/walk?

A: No. There is no fundraising minimum, but we need your help to help us end prostate cancer. All registered participants and volunteers receive a personal fundraising page.

Q: I want to fundraise, but I don’t know how. Where should I start?

A: All registered participants and volunteers receive their own personal fundraising page and participant center.
