Growing Hair for Mens Health
Oh, the 70s and 80s -- an era when men sported the mustaches of all mustaches. They weren’t raising awareness for anything -- they were just going with a fashion trend. In fact, facial hair hasn't been just a fad of the past decades. For hundreds of years, facial hair was considered a symbol of power, strength, and wealth.
But that all changed when 30 men in a pub in Melbourne, Australia, leveraged the power of sporting a mustache and started a campaign. Its purpose? A noble one: to raise awareness for prostate cancer during the month of November, which eventually sparked a movement now known around the world as Movember
At Baird we have turned this movement into something we passionately call NovemBeard.
This fundraiser has grown in participation and donations every year, and is now one of the largest charity campaigns at Baird (behind United Way and UPAF). As we have in the past, the NovemBeard donations will continue to support ZERO- The End of Prostate Cancer. Our donations have increased each year, and our goal is to continue that trend.
Please consider helping me raise some money for a very worthwhile cause that I have a very close connection with after losing my father to Cancer a few years ago.
One in seven fathers, sons, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including more than 180,000 throughout the U.S. this year alone.
This November, I'm putting down the razor and picking up the cause by participating in the Grow & Give campaign with ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer. Together, we can end the suffering of prostate cancer, but I need your support!
Your donation will help fund research, patient programs that go directly to helping men and their families, free testing, educational programs, and more.
Please support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today! You'll feel proud knowing that you're helping keep families together and saving lives.
