Welcome to My Personal Page
As you all know. My father Bob Phyfer is the best. Cancer tried to tear him down and he fought back.
This in my story of how prostate cancer changed not only my father's life, but ours as well. 3 days after my wedding my parents broke the news. My dad, superman, had cancer. They said it was prostate and my sister, my brother and I had a wierd since of relief. People beat prostate cancer everyday. We knew it would be an easy battle. Boy we were so wrong. Dad decided to have his prostate removed, this was his best option. This surgery is preformed regularly and is considered an "easy" process. I thank God everyday for my father's strength and pride because is was FAR from easy. My dad went through every compilation possible and came out on top. He had severe bleeding, infections that turned into sepsis more then once, and even icu psychosis. I ran into one of his doctors the other day at Starbucks. She looked at me and said she was sorry for my loss, I said to her "MY DAD'S ALIVE" she was amazed. No one thought he was going to pull through. Our friends and family NEVER gave up and I truly believe that's because dad never dId.
I will run this 5k in honor of the strongest man I know! Will you join me?
