My Personal Page
In December, 2012, our family's lives were changed in the blink of an eye. After weeks of suffering from a low back "sprain", thought to be due to moving furniture, my husband, Jim, was rushed to the ER, doubled over in severe back pain. After 7 hours in the ER, the doctor told us the pain was caused by compression fractures in his back, probably metasteses from his Prostate Cancer. After seeing many specialists that night, it was confirmed -- my husband of 41 years had Stage IV Prostate Cancer with Bone mets.
One in seven fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including 3,840 men in MD this year alone.
I'm participating in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk because I want to put an end to prostate cancer and I need your support.
Our family participated in our first ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in September 2013, in Towson, MD, and we have been participating every year since. We run with our kids, their spouses, our grandchildren, family members and friends. We are GRAMPS' GROUP. We do it for Jim, for Dad, for Gramps!.
Please support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
Your support provides much needed funds for research, education and awareness, and patient assistance for prostate cancer patients in our local community. Cancer medications and treatments can be very expensive. We have been fortunate enough on a couple of occasions to have received grants from this Foundation to help cover some of these costs.
As I cross the finish line of the upcoming ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk, you’ll feel proud knowing you helped save lives and keep families together.
