In memory of Mark Memmott
Every 20 minutes another American man dies from prostate cancer. That’s a little more than 71 deaths per day and 26,120 this year, enough to fill a baseball stadium. My father, Mark Memmott was one of them..
By the time my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer it was stage 4 matastis bone cancer eventually affecting most all of his skeleton. I stood by my dad's side as he went through various treatments, surgerys, radiation, clinical trials and to many medications to count. My dad endured horrible debilitating pain on a daily basis and struggled to do simple everyday things most of us take for granted.. my dad was a fighter and fought untill the very very end when he finally lost his battle 4 years later on fathers day 2014 at the young age of 61. The memory's of his years fighting this horrible disease haunt me.. I miss him so much it hurts..
NO ONE should EVER have to go through what my father did, let alone watch a loved one endure the horrible effects of prostate cancer. That is why I do this and that is why I'm asking for your help today. Please support me in my fight to end prostate cancer! If we can save one more person or family from going through what mine has, that's all I ask..
One in seven fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including 17,240 men in CA this year alone.
I'm participating in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk because I want to put an end to prostate cancer and I need your support. Please support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
Your support provides much needed funds for research, education and awareness, and patient assistance for prostate cancer patients in our local community.
As I cross the finish line of the upcoming ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk, you’ll feel proud knowing you helped save lives and keep families together.
