Cosponsor Request: An Act Relative to Step Therapy and Patient Safety

Dear [Decision Maker],

As your constituent and someone who has been personally affected by prostate cancer, I respectfully request that you co-sponsor H.1853 / S.1235, An Act Relative to Step Therapy and Patient Safety. This bill reforms step therapy, or "fail first", health insurance protocols that require patients to try a less expensive treatment, or series of treatments, before they can access the drug originally prescribed by their physician.

While this bill does not prohibit insurers from using fail first protocols, it aims to ensure timely access to the medications that patients desperately need. On behalf of the prostate cancer community, I hope you will support this important legislation!

Sincerely,
