Welcome to Angelika's ZERO Peaks Challenge Fundraising Page
Out of every 100 American men, about 13 will get prostate cancer during their lifetime. Of those men, 3-4 will die from this disease. Sadly, black men are 2.1x more likely to die of prostate cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in American men!
Everyone’s story is different and we are often stopped in our tracks when we hear about Prostate Cancer. You might know the feeling when your dad tells you he might have it and you are paralyzed with the information received. You realize what your best friend went through with her father and what your mentor experienced as well. With all unfamiliar feelings, you decide it’s time to bring a value to someone.
I choose a challenge to raise vital funds for prostate cancer patients by hiking a trek to Uhuru Peak (Tanzania, 5895 m), Mount Kilimanjaro, with ZERO Peaks Challenge. For me it is not just about scaling a mountain – I am passionate about testing my limits while actively contributing to an important cause. My fundraising impact can help provide resources and support for newly diagnosed patients with ZERO365 free comprehensive support service and ZERO’s MENtor Program that provides 1 on 1 support for prostate cancer patients, finds a community and a path forward.
My fundraising goal is $12,500 over next 6 months and it is without any doubts a big stretch for me. I am not able to do it without your support and donations. I am grateful for every share of my fundraising page.
I also want to bring awareness of how my preparation is going (19341’ is no joke) by providing information of how we all can stay healthy and fit. And keep our fathers thriving and living the fullest.
Every dollar raised supports families impacted by prostate cancer. Your effort brings hope to countless lives and help to break down barriers to bring us closer to a future free of prostate cancer.
