In honor of my Peruvian heritage and in memory of my dad, Eduardo aka "Lalo", Team Lalo's Chasquis is here to help raise awareness about prostate cancer. I lost my dad to prostate cancer in 2011. In 2015, I found ZERO and have been committed to raising funds for this cause ever since. I have participated in 3 ZERO 5K Runs: 2015 in Long Beach (CA), 2016 in Greensboro (NC) and 2017 in Raleigh (NC).
Because of the awesome people I have met through work, running and Tri It For Life, in the past 18 months I decided to create a team. 2018 is year one for Team Lalo's Chasquis and will be the my personal favorite of all the 5K's I've done with ZERO and it's because of YOU!
In case you're wondering, Chasquis were physically fit, highly trained and agile messengers of the Inka empire. They travelled over 100 miles a day to deliver messages. Join Lalo' Chasquis today!
One in nine fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including 5,580 men in North Carolina this year alone.
Your donation provides much needed funds for research, education and awareness, and patient assistance for prostate cancer patients in our local community. Please support our efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
Team up with us to fight prostate cancer; you’ll feel proud knowing you’ve helped save lives.
