In Loving Memory of Eduardo Zevallos
I lost my dad to prostate cancer eight years ago. I miss him every day, but I know he is in a place where he is free from pain and most importantly reunited with my mom. He fought hard until the end and never once asked why he was handed this card. Through pain and endless testing he demonstrated so much strength and love, he will forever be my hero. My dad was my #1 fan and always encouraged me to take on new challenges. I run this race to honor him and to show him that I know he will always be in my heart and never forgotten.
On October 19th, I will be participating in Zero's 3rd Annual 5K run in Raleigh, NC. This will be my 5th 5K with Zero. My first run was in 2015 in Los Angeles, CA and in 2016, I drove nearly 80 miles one way to participate in Greensboro, NC.
One in nine fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including 7,490 men in North Carolina this year alone.
