Welcome to My Personal Page
One in nine fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including 1,720 men in Iowa this year alone.
I became one of those men in the fall of 2017. After surgery, I heard the great news that I was cancer free. I have since learned that you can never be sure. Cancer returns. The good news is that most often prostate caner is treatable as long as it is caught early. Therefore, I will continue to have PSA tests on a routine basis for the rest of my life.
I am convinced that prostate screening saves lives. I encourage all men to get screened. That means a digital exam and the PSA blood test. My PSA was not high, but my doctor routinely does the digital exam and found a lump. The cancer was diagnosed ultimately as being aggressive, but contained in the prostate. I am thankful that my doctor did the exam. Some doctors don't do either screening test. I encourage you to demand it.
I'm participating in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk because I want to put an end to prostate cancer. Please support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
Your donation provides much needed funds for research, education and awareness, and patient assistance for prostate cancer patients in our local community.
Team up with me to fight prostate cancer by walking with me on September 28th; you'll enjoy the walk and you’ll feel proud knowing you’ve helped save lives.
