Welcome to Richmond's Fundraising Page
I'm Richmond Hill, and this year I am celebrating two years as a prostate cancer survivor. It's been a journey filled with ups and downs, but thanks to the support of organizations like Zero Prostate Cancer and the incredible community that rallied around me, I'm still standing strong.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Zero Prostate Cancer for their unwavering support, their dedication to research, and their commitment to saving lives. They're not just an organization; they're a lifeline for those facing prostate cancer.
My prostate cancer journey began in January 2022 when I was diagnosed with stage two prostate cancer. It was a shock, to say the least, but it also marked the start of a journey filled with resilience and hope.
In April of 2022 I underwent a radical prostatectomy at Johns Hopkins University Hospital Kimmel Cancer Center, surrounded by the best healthcare professionals and supported by my spouse and an amazing community.
My experience has taught me the importance of sharing my story, especially with communities disproportionately affected by prostate cancer. One in six Black men will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime—compared to one in eight men overall. Black men are 1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed with—and 2.1 times more likely to die from—prostate cancer than white men. I'm alive as a testament to the power of awareness, early detection, and support.
Early into my diagnosis, I joined ZERO and found an amazing community of support; providing me invaluable guidance, resources, and, information. I could not have done it so successfully without ZERO. You can help ZERO out prostate cancer by joining my team and fundraising efforts today. I'm participating in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk to support and celebrate the many inspiring patients and families nationwide who are fighting this awful disease. Please support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
Your donation provides much needed funds for research, education, and direct assistance for prostate cancer patients in our local community. Know that your gift will be put to use immediately by helping to fund emotional and financial support resources and assistance programs for prostate cancer patients and families in need during these dire times.
Join me in the fight to ZERO out prostate cancer by making a gift today! I’m proud to know that I can count on your amazing generosity, which will help local men and their families affected by prostate cancer. Please help me raise funds and please come and walk/run with me on June 15th.
