Running to End Prostate Cancer
Friends, on March 17, I will run the NYC Half Marathon in support of ZERO--The End of Prostate Cancer. This will be my eleventh half marathon, and fifth since my prostate cancer diagnosis in 2014.
Thanks to early detection and treatment, I have been in remission since early 2015. It is estimated that in 2018, approximately 164,690 new cases and 29,430 prostate cancer-related deaths will occur in the United States. Prostate cancer is now the second leading cause of cancer death in men. It accounts for 19% of all male cancers and 9% of male cancer-related deaths.
ZERO is dedicated to prostate cancer education, testing, patient support, research and advocacy.
Please sponsoring me as a I run with 19,000+ other runners through Brooklyn and Manhattan.
