Hey Bud..... AGAIN!
Today, July 11th, marks eleven years since my dad Andy passed away after a long and courageous nine year battle with prostate cancer. He was only 58 years old. During this time, my family and I were able to see firsthand the effect that cancer can have on someone that you love.
One in eight fathers, sons, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. We should be putting massive resources, time, and effort into screening, early diagnosis, and treatment of this incredibly common and sometimes fatal cancer.
Last year, with your help, I was able to raise money and run for Team ZERO and the fight against prostate cancer in the 2022 TCS NYC Marathon. This year, I'm at it again! This October, I am running the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with Team ZERO, in hopes of continuing to make strides in the fight.
I've pledged to raise at least $1,750 for ZERO and I need your support to reach my goal. Each donation brings us one step closer to Generation ZERO - the first generation of men free from prostate cancer by providing critical funds for research, patient financial assistance, early detection and educational programs.
Andy truly was one of a kind, and we miss him every day. He was someone that liked to take action and make a difference, especially when it came to causes near and dear to his heart. Dad, these second 26.2 miles are also for you.
Thank you for helping make a difference for prostate cancer patients around the country!
