Hello and Welcome to my TeamZERO Fund Raising Page!
Most of you know I am an avid runner and for some reason like to put myself through the pain and suffering of training through the hot summer months to run a fall marathon (Thank you Doug Schons for getting me into this!). Well this year is no different, with one exception - I am running with a renewed purpose and in support of other people.
My daughter, Casey, and I both signed up through the lottery hoping to run the Chicago Marathon again October 8th, 2023. Lottery day came and Casey got in and I didn’t so I quickly jumped on the fund raising team pages and started looking for a team to join. A team on the list caught my eye - TeamZERO, a team for the support of men going through prostate cancer. It seemed like karma so I immediately signed up.
I am a lucky prostate cancer survivor. There is a family history that made me very aware of the real possibility I would be joining the family diagnosis and what I needed to do to catch it early. We did catch my diagnosis early and I am happy to report I am cancer free. Some guys are not that lucky and the funds we can raise by me running a few miles on a Sunday morning in Chicago may help other guys be able to one day say the same thing.
Thank you in advance for any contribution you can give to this important cause. You might just change a life! Running these 26.2 miles will be the most meaningful miles I've ever run.
