Your expedition begins with a warm welcome in Moshi, a laid-back town nestled at the base of the legendary mountain. After a comprehensive briefing and gear check, you'll set off on the renowned Lemosho route, conquering diverse terrains from lush rainforests to otherworldly alpine deserts. Imagine the adrenaline rush as you ascend through Kilimanjaro's distinct climate zones, each day bringing new challenges and awe-inspiring vistas. Your nights will be spent in well-equipped campsites, where you'll rest under star-studded skies and wake to stunning sunrises over the African plains.
The pinnacle of your journey awaits at Uhuru Peak, standing proud at 19,341 feet (5,895 meters). 8-day trek (12 days total, including travel)
- Stand atop the roof of Africa on Day 9.
- Explore breath-taking surroundings as you move from jungle to high desert, to snowy terrain.
- Travel one of the more exciting routes on the mountain that is still manageable by the average hiker.
- You will pass through five ecosystems, from dense forest and heather through the alpine desert to the glorious summit, with plenty of wildlife sightings along the way.
