First Responders, Let's Grow Together!
Calling all First Responders! This November, your unit can be the first line of defense for prostate cancer patients and their families when you participate in Grow & Give.
Grow & Give combines friendly, fuzzy competition and doing good for the community which is sure to boost unit morale all around!
What if our unit requires a clean shave?
Many do, but there are departments across the country that get a short-term exception to the rule for Grow & Give. Just have a chat with your captain. If you need back up, Shawn Supers is here to help!
Your unit's participation in Grow & Give will increase awareness about prostate cancer in your community. Awareness is key to increasing early detection, which can decrease the amount of deaths from this disease. We are calling on all first responders to grow a beard or rock a boldy blue style this November to spread the word about prostate cancer.
Have any other units participated?
Yes! A great example is the Ozaukee County, WI and Laurel, MD stations who competed against each other to raise funds for prostate cancer research. The friendly competition between the police chiefs expanded into their local communities and raised significant awareness and funds for the cause. ZERO will provide a leaderboard so that you can track your progress against other first responder teams across the country. National bragging rights are at stake here.
How Does This Help?
ZERO puts the money where our mouth is! Funds raised through the Grow & Give campaign benefit prostate cancer research, patient programs, and awareness outreach. Together, we can make a significant impact on the fight against the disease for all who are impacted. More than 85¢ per dollar goes to programs and activities, and we have the best-possible 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
