Beard up. Speak out. Let's do some good!

More Hair = More Help For Men

The hairiest time of the year is almost here — or should we say almost HAIR?

Join the facial hair-growing fun! Raise funds and awareness to end prostate cancer with ZERO this November.

Support the 1 in 9 American men affected by prostate cancer by challenging friends, coworkers, or family to grow facial hair with you. The more you raise, the more men you save! Plus, you’ll get some pretty cool swag as a thank you. Take a look at what could be yours! (Thanks to partners Wahl Home Products and Tito’s Handmade Vodka for donating prizes and getting in on the Grow & Give action.)

And, if you’re a first responder (police, fire squad, EMT, etc.), ZERO challenges you to join the many other first responders across the country in growing and giving to end prostate cancer! Or, if you’re a business owner, find out how you can partner with ZERO for an extra special Grow & Give!.

Send photos of your sweet ‘stache or bountiful beard to photos@zerocancer.org for a chance to have ZERO share your cool new look on our social media channels!

BRCA gene linked to breast and prostate cancer

September is over, and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month has come to a close. Pink is everywhere this month, and for a good reason — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ZERO recognizes the loved ones in both the prostate cancer community and all cancer communities that have been affected by breast cancer.

Did you know that breast cancer and prostate cancer have much in common, including the BRCA gene? Watch ZERO CEO Jamie Bearse and Greater Boston Urology CEO Dr. Michael Curran to discuss this connection and the risk men have of aggressive prostate cancer in a recent Facebook Live.

Learn more about the connection between prostate and breast cancers by following ZERO’s social media this month, and reading up-to-date news and blogs.

Wow, You Really Made a Difference!

You rose to the challenge, and made Jamie dye his beard blue

You just set a new standard this Prostate Cancer Awareness Month: more than $143,000 in impact! Your incredible generosity made sure that all PCAM matching funds were met and exceeded, to make sure that prostate cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers can get the support they need.

On September 24 we went live for the first-ever ZERO Cancer Day, to celebrate community by raising awareness, funds, and spirits. We challenged you to dye Jamie's beard blue, and you broke records by helping us raise $55,000 in matched funds on that day alone...WOW!

ZERO Cancer Day was chock-full of educational segments, fundraising updates, inspirational stories, and more, and we can't wait to do it again next year. Thank you to everyone who tuned in from near and far, and all of those in the ZERO community who made the day possible. If you missed ZERO Cancer Day, fear not! You can catch recorded segments on ZERO’s Facebook page.

Getting Candid About Prostate Cancer

Prostate Cancer: Uncensored podcast

On ZERO Cancer Day, we launched a new podcast series! Prostate Cancer Uncensored features candid conversations with patients, survivors, and physicians. The podcast's inaugural series zeroes in on sexual side effects of the disease and its treatments.

ZERO's CEO Jamie hosts the series, and in the first episode he’s joined by Emmy Award-winning NBA analyst and host Glenn Consor. Consor – a prostate cancer survivor – talks candidly about his experience of sex after prostate cancer. Our next episode is a discussion featuring Dr. Rachel Rubin, a urological surgeon and fellowship-trained sexual medicine specialist.

Read a transcript of the discussion, or head over to our podcasts page to find links for subscribing on Apple Podcasts, Anchor, TuneIn, PlayerFM, Pocket Casts, PodBean, RadioPublic, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Spotify, or your other platform of choice.

Only a Few More Chances to Run/Walk to #EndProstateCancer in 2019

Have a great time with us at the ZERO Run/Walk

Thanks to all the Run/Walk participants and fundraisers who joined us so far to make a difference for patients and their families! More than 10,000 participants attended one of our 21 events in September alone!

There’s only SEVEN opportunities left to join the prostate cancer community in your local area at an upcoming Run/Walk.

And, if the kiddos (or you -- we won’t judge!) need one more excuse to don their superhero costumes, ZERO’s Run/Walks are the perfect venue! A Kid’s Superhero Dash is at every race, and is fun for the whole family. Let your kid strut their stuff and save Gotham all while saving a man from prostate cancer.

Register for a race and/or Kids Superhero Dash in one of these cities:

Want to bring a ZERO Run/Walk to your community in 2020? Reach out to us and let's talk about how you can run an event with our Bold for Blue fundraising DIY program.
