I could be you....it was me. Lets put this disease behind us.

This November, I'm putting down the razor (until Carmen sees me at Thanksgiving) and picking up the cause (once again) by participating in the Grow & Give campaign with ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer. Together, we can end the suffering of prostate cancer, but I need your support! Your donation will help fund research, patient programs that go directly to helping men and their families, free testing, educational programs, and more.
Realize - One in nine fathers, sons, brothers, partners, and friends will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, including more than 174,000 throughout the U.S. this year alone. If you live long enough that will reach 1:3. Having always been healthy, religiously exercising, always eating healthy, doing endurance training...yet - it got me. It can get you too. We don't get to choose these things, but we can choose to get tested and fund our brothers that are already in the fight. Sadly most men have no idea what their prostate does. Most men don't get an annual physical.
It was August 2016 when my PSA test came back elevated, and it was January 25 2017 - driving down the 405 freeway from Long Beach to El Segundo on my way to work when I got the call from my doctor....it's positive - you have prostate cancer. You don't expect that...it hits you like a ton of bricks, but by then I had read 3 books and I was ready. Semper Paratus...
By 4/1/2017....I had endured the surgery, and despite being told I'd be out for 60 days I was back working in 8 days and flying in 10 days. After 3yrs of being a patient advocate I can tell you that was 1:5000 that experience that kind of recovery. I was in top shape then. I was lucky.
There are no symptoms until it's too late. The only protection you have is an annual physical and a PSA test. If you aren't doing that annually then change your behaviors. The old DRE test is important, but if it's positive it's already probably progressed too far. PSA is the only way to catch it early. The cost is negligible. It's easy to do.
I'm an Ambassador for ZERO Prostate Cancer foundation and annually - as many of you know - I head to Washington DC to work w/Congress to address funding and research. YOUR DONATIONS assure I get selected and invited there and to do the "good work" needed to fight this disease.
There are many men less fortunate than I. There are many that struggle to pay their medical bills. There are many men walking around today w/the disease and don't even know it. There are many men that didn't recover as well as I did, and need further care and support.
So this funding helps all of those situations. Like last year I will match the 1st $1,000 in donations to help this cause. It's what I do...to help my fellow man, and someday I may need this research...so it's important to me too.
Please open your heart....and do your part. Support me by making a tax-deductible contribution today! You'll feel proud knowing that you're helping keep families together and saving lives.
Thank you....
