Welcome to the 13th edition of the Shaker Road BROvember campaign to raise money and awareness about men's health issues.  Specifically, we want to end prostate cancer in our lifetime. After shaving on November 1, the men of Shaker Road are willing to risk relentless itching and scratching - not to mention curious glances and the occasional soul-crushing comment -  to GROW & GIVE.  This means we grow our beards, give money to the fight, give attention to the issue and give a good example to the students in our school about helping the community. 

As the guy who asked others to join the cause 13 years ago, I need to thank the great men here at Shaker Road as they contribute to the effort.  It sounds easy...just don't shave for 30 days!...but it is a nuisance that they could avoid and they still sign on to help.  Will you still support us?

The scruffiness cannot be ignored and thus, that look invites a conversation about why we didn't shave.  Thus begins the awareness part of this effort.  There are 3 million American men living with prostate cancer each day and while progress is being made, we want to help that number be ZERO. 

Shaker Road partners with ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer each BROvember and we urge all readers of this page to browse their site to learn more about the disease, their work and why we are so very proud to support them.  Year after year more than 85 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to their programming.

Men of all ages need to be mindful of their good health. So many folks depend on you to be present and a big part of their life. When you consider how important your role is as a son, a father, a husband, an uncle, a cousin, a grandfather, a partner or a friend, the reluctance to give some blood and dignity to be tested seems silly. Just do it!
